EMDR is an extensively researched therapy for processing traumatic memory and is highly recognized for its effectiveness. Life issues, maladaptive beliefs and problem behaviors are traced to touchstone experiences which are processed resulting in the development of positive beliefs, attitudes and behaviors. The emotions of traumatic memory are resolved.
EMDR may be used in the treatment of anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders, complex grief, pain disorders, performance anxiety, stress reduction and addictions.
Hakomi uses loving and mindful presence to current embodied experience to increase awareness of issues, negative beliefs and painful experiences. It works with the body to deepen awareness of the meaning and impact of personal experience and of what is needed to feel whole, relaxed, empowered, happy.
Hakomi is used for trauma treatment, in individual psychotherapy, couples counseling, personal growth groups and in coaching
Hakomi is loved for its non-invasive, attuned and respectful approach and emotionally nourishing methods.
Coaching helps people expand their capacity to learn, grow and produce results. Clients are supported to stretch beyond their comfort zone in order to achieve something valued. They are supported to own their own leadership, to use identified strengths and move through obstacles toward an identified goal. The coaching relationship is authentic, client centered, mindful, and operates within a collaborative agreement.
I specialize in the application of coaching methods to help people weather periods of life transition, create purpose and direction in their lives and achieve goals that are aligned with their values.
"A man I once knew told me he didn't want to go into therapy to find himself because he was afraid he would find nothing there. That kind of sums it up, doesn't it? So many of us live with a profound fear of looking at who we are and how we got to be this way. No matter how often our patterns come back to bite us, we're afraid to look at them. But no one becomes comfortale with life as it is without somehow grappling with the ways they carry around their pasts, either by replicating them or desperately rejecting them, or even - and often - both."
from There Are No Mistakes by Eleanor Wiley with Caroline Pincus

"Let us think of two people who have been together in a warm and truthful relationship. . . . They have taken the risk of loving each other with no guarantees or superficial promises. Our relationship to life can be the same: Joy and pleasure enrich it; pain may mold and deepen it." Piero Ferrucci

"When I dare to be powerful...to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." Andre Lourde
